Troop 10 takes youth protection and privacy very seriously. According to BSA procedures, the full name of any Scout under 18 is always redacted on items posted on the web to first name and last initial only. For adult leaders, their name is redacted to first name and last initial except where necessary and when used with permission. Contact information (address/phone) for adult leaders is redacted except where necessary and when used with permission.
Troop 10 uses Yahoo! groups for a password-protected file area and for email list support. The Troop 10 Yahoo! group is a closed group limited to Troop 10 families only. Private Troop information may be stored on the Yahoo! site and distributed by means of the Troop 10 email distribution list associated with the Yahoo! group. While the Troop 10 leadership takes reasonable steps to limit access to only Troop members, the Troop is not responsible for access obtained through, but not limited to, fraudulent means, including misrepresentations, other means used to obtain access, or any security breaches of the Yahoo! service or Troop member's computers or accounts. Parents/guardians with privacy or security concerns should contact the Committee Chair. The Troop is not responsible for how information obtained from the public website or the Yahoo! site or the Yahoo! mailing list is used. Troop members are asked to safeguard their Yahoo! login.
