Check the weather at camp.
Each summer Troop 10 goes to Camp Napowan (view surrounding area with Google Maps) for 2 weeks from mid-June until late-June/early-July. We have an excellent campsite (Cherokee) next to Lake Napowan and near the trading post (see Napowan map). Scouts may attended the first, second or both weeks. Napowan is a fun experience for the boys and provides a means to earn a variety of merit badges from the over 40 offered at camp, some difficult to get outside of camp. Attending Camp Napowan is highly recommended for the first 2 to 3 years of Troop participation. Counselor positions may be available for older scouts.
Parents, consider spending a few days (or the whole 2 weeks!) at Camp Napowan helping the boys and participating in some of the fun activities. All adults attending Camp Napowan must be trained and registered Adult Leaders:
- #1 Register with BSA - contact Mrs. Joerin for details.
- #2 Complete BUMC "Safe Sanctuaries" program - contact Mrs. Joerin for details.
- #3 Complete BSA "Youth Protection Training"; may be taken online for your convenience.
Note that any Scout new to Troop 10 (or who hasn't been on an overnight campout) must attend an overnight campout (last opportunities are in April or May) with their parent prior to attending Napowan.

Note that the registration/payments dates are set by the Council and we cannot make any exceptions!
Merit Badge Pre-work
The merit badges that will be offered this year at Camp Napowan are listed on the Napowan.org website.
Some of the merit badges have pre-work that must be completed BEFORE attending Napowan and brought to camp for review by the merit badge counselor. You can find the prework for Summer Camp on the Napowan website.
Health forms are required for everyone (boys and adults) participating in activities or staying overnight. The proper form depends on your circumstances as described below:
It is also important that the Camp Director and the Medical Officer be aware of any conditions which might require attention or pose problems while at camp.
Wisconsin State law requires the camp to store and administer all medications with the exception of those necessary for immediate relief (i.e., inhalers and epi-pens.) Any medication brought to camp MUST be in the original bottle with legible prescribing directions. NO EXCEPTIONS.
When the Troop leaves for Napowan, all medications must be given to the Scoutmaster for transport, except for those necessary for immediate relief. Upon arrival at Napowan, Scouts requiring medication and their medicines will be taken to the camp's health lodge where the medicines will be stored and procedures explained to the Scouts.
